When an SEO audit makes sense
- Traffic has dropped and nobody can explain why.
- You are about to redesign or migrate the site and want to protect what ranks today.
- You have paid for SEO before and want an honest read on where things stand.
- A competitor keeps outranking you with what looks like a weaker site.
- You are planning next year's marketing budget and need to know what search can realistically deliver.
What we check
Technical health
Crawlability, indexing, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, redirects and redirect chains, status codes, JavaScript rendering, mobile usability, Core Web Vitals, HTTPS, hreflang where relevant, and structured data.
Content and on-page
Title tags and meta descriptions, heading structure, thin and duplicate pages, keyword cannibalization (several pages fighting for the same search), content gaps against competitors, and how well each page answers what the searcher wants.
Site architecture and internal links
How many clicks it takes to reach key pages, which pages receive internal links and which are orphaned, and whether your navigation matches how people search.
Backlinks
The quality and relevance of the sites linking to you, risky or spammy patterns, lost links, and the gap between your profile and the top three competitors.
Local SEO (if relevant)
Google Business Profile setup, categories, reviews, citation consistency and location pages.
AI search visibility
Whether Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity mention your brand for your main buyer questions, and what the sites they cite instead have in common.
What you receive
- An executive summary. One page: the five problems costing you the most and what fixing them is likely to be worth.
- The full findings report, grouped by area, each item scored for impact and effort.
- Developer tickets with affected URLs and acceptance criteria.
- A 90-day roadmap in priority order.
- A walkthrough call with the strategist who ran the audit.
Why our audits get used, not filed
Most audits fail because they are 120 pages of tool exports with no priorities. Ours is written by a senior strategist who has had to fix these problems on live sites. One Shopify founder in Chicago told us it was the most thorough audit she had ever seen, with every finding ranked by impact. The top-tier fixes were live within 30 days.
